It's sad but right now, sex and boyfriends are normal to teenagers. It still a shock to me when my friends talk about it like it's nothing. But it has a lot to do with the media and television and what's "cool".

Because everyone around them is either doing it or talking about it and highschools these days are loaded with guys that will tell a gurl anything just to get into her pants. The thought gets put into thier heads that they wont be cool if they don't do this. Its a whole lot like peer pressure and drugs. You are not wrong by staying absent through highschool, I did and there is nothing wrong with it. You will get looked at a lot more by staying absent. I used to have the same problem, I used to ask my friends about it and they would tell me that they wished that they were still a virgin, so don't do something just because others are doing it and it might make you look or sound cool, because you actually get looked down for it.

Stereotype! Stereotype! Most do not think it's wrong, they just make another choice for themselves. Some are in committed serious relationships and in the Junior/Senior years you have young adults, some who may be engaged, going with someone in college, military or working etc. Sex is important but it is not the only thing of importance in a persons life, you need to find a balance.

the circumstance applies differently in different countries and states. i must admit, that westerners are considered more open, in the eyes of non-westerners.
having sex before high school isnt really a big deal in western countries, but i still advise you to USE A CONDOM whenever you are having sex, until you have reached the age that you've decided that you are willing to settle down.
if you've decided not to have sex until you are married, then congratulations! keep up the thought ;)

part if it is horny guys....and girls sometimes. all those hormones running through the body...sometimes its just..its easier to give in to desire.
but also its that television and the media in general portrays sex as something that happens all the time, and that it can be meaningless and casual. but in truth sex is never like that.
i guess with the world saying that having sex is the only way to go, and that abstaining is wrong,
there is no wonder that teenagers in all their confusion get lost in not knowing, and fall onto the wrong ideas.
does that help?

Probably because they equate sex with adulthood and 'coolness'. I was a virgin all through my teens and was proud of it. You should too if you're still a virgin. Hang on to it, because they guys that make good husbands will find that appealing. It's becoming rare today.

Come on. Name one teen whom you know and has had sex before high school. And I mean KNOW. Not heard about from TV etc.
Most kids don't. But some do and they give the rest of us a bad reputation.
