When my son was born I noticed both of his index fingernails were thicker and came to a point at the tip. His doctor told me nothing was wrong and they would grow out. He is now 5 monthes old and nothing has changed. I am just wondering why his fingernails are like this and can I do anything to help make them "normal".

Its just one little quirk that makes him unique! They are normal for him and nothing to worry about :D

It may just be the way his nail bed is. Either way, 5 months is still early to call it normal for him. He still might out grow it.

Its not a deformation, and making a deal out of it will only make him self concious about it.

Just keep them as trimmed as you can, its just part of his make up right now.
