Stephen Colbert from The Colbert Report on Comedy Central. He plays such a cocky arrogant news reporter and is just ssoooo funny. In real life he's a Sunday School teacher, so his character on the show is actually quite a stretch from his everyday persona. Just hilarious. You have to check it out - he's on right after The Daily Show with Jon Stewart (Stephen actually started on The Daily Show as a correspondent).

Dennis Franz as Sipowitz in NYPD Blue closely followed by William Peterson as Gil Grissom in CSI Las Vegas. Both were tough and articulate in their own way. Grissom is a highly intelligent character that doesn't come across as arrogant.
