Well i had a hysterectomy at 23 due to endrometrios and polocystic ovaries and now i can't have children unless i adopt but thats fine as i don't want any. I was also told i would be on HRT for about 50 years which i took myself off after 5months so will have to go back on later in life and also will have a higher chance of brittle bones and also will need another operation to pull up my weak bladder because there is nothing to hold it. But I feel great even though i will spend the next 5 years going through the menopause and it has helped me have a completly different outlook in life. At least i know that i have already gone through the menopause and i think that you actually deal with it better in your 20s then in your 40s or 50s some people going through the menopause are complete bitches but you cope with it well in your 20s and the best bit is no periods!!!!

Probably the biggest effect will be no children of your own - unless you havesome already.
Take your HRT and if suffering huge side effects get the doctor to adjust the dose til you find what suits you.
Osteoporosis will make your bones weaker so eat lots of calcium and follow docs orders!

I know for sure that it will make your bones more brittle or porous later in life.
