Having sex is a physical act that you may enjoy for awhile but may not feel any "ties" to that person.
Making love is feeling like that the one your with is aware of what you need before, during, and after the love making. When love is made, that person is the only one you want and you are the only one he wants. It is emotional and goes being the physical act. When you think of making love, you don't even have to touch that individual, just the mere thought brings you to the point of climax.
My opinion is making love is sex to the 10th power.

Ever had a really good conversation where the other person understands EXACTLY what you are saying? One of those 'stay up and talk all night just because the flow is so good' conversations? The kind where even your breathing is in sync... the connection is so close that telepathy is almost happening?
For me, that's what making love is like. It's like an intimate conversation where both people are totally invested, relaxed, happy, and comfortable. Mind reading happens... bodies and minds are focused on the body and mind of your partner. It's like breathing out and breathing in happens simultaneously. Ahhh....

This is a very good question. Though both interactions are similar, love making and sex are separated by one determining factor. Love. If love isn't present, then it is sex. You will know the difference during and afterwards.

Making love is slow, passionate, and focuses on every part of the body in its entirety, there is more of a toned down emotion. Just sex can get extreme or it can just focus on pushing in and out.

If you are not in love how could it be anything but just having sex. But even if you are in love and you and your partner make love there is still opportunity's were you can screw each others brains out just for fun.

When you are making love its not rushed or uncomfortable. It also helps if you are in love with the person you are doing the act with.
People that have just met or have other partners to go home to, they just f**k. I means nothing for those people.

Unless you have some sort of feelings it's just plain f******. It's the emotions and feelings that make it lovemaking. Making love is passionate and emotional. Sex is nothing more than just that.

depends on your feelings for the one you are "going at it with"
do you love them or do you love doing them?
do you want to be with them right now or forever?
Then again after 10 years of marriage there are times that my wife and I just F*U#C@K! And other times we take it slow and enjoy lovemaking!
SO, I am not sure! Must be the style and feeling?

That's why waiting until you're married is a good idea- it's making love because you share a love, are committed to your love, and have promised to love.
