I don't mean socialized healthcare, and I don't mean provided for free. I simply mean that government could meet with insurance companies and find a soultion to this problem facing many working americans. is anyone against that?

The high cost of health care today is actually due to government regulations and the number of lawsuits that receive exorbitant settlements. These costs are then passed to the patients, which then makes them need either insurance or government assistance to pay for health care.
If both the federal and state governments would reduce regulations, red tape, and such then the cost of health care could also drop. But, people also need to understand that doctors and nurses, no matter how well trained or experienced, are human and do make mistakes. And there is also so much that we just really don't understand about the human body.

The cost of health insurance has more than doubled in the last 6 years. In the State I live in, one in four do not have health insurance.

I think we should look at every option including socialized health care. If socialized health care can be shown to work, be cost effective, and so on while providing affordable health care to all Americans, I think it should be a consideration.

Something has to be done. There are more Americans without health insurance every year. We are going down a dangerous path with this. So if the government needs to get involved, I am all for it.

Many Republicans are against it for the simple fact that Hillary Clinton brought it up during the Clinton years. We need to get over that kind of shallow thinking and think about what is best for all Americans.

The only thing the government could do that would help is to protect the healthcare industry from lawsuits. Any other government interference would turn into socialized medicine. And that is exactly what the Democrats want.

Stop the slavery of Social programs. Vote against anybody (Republican or Democrat) that supports ANY federal social program (social security, welfare, socialized medicine, etc.).
Let us come together and finally end slavery once and for all.

I do not understand why the Federal Government is suppose to be involved in every aspect of our lives. Military, international treaties and trade, cross state lines laws and roadways, and laws of the whole land. I thought once upon a time that democrats and liberals were against the Big Brother concept but now days it seems that not only want Big Brother but the sister, uncle, aunt and all the relatives.

Without socialized medicine. How are you going to pay for kids from large families and poor parent? Should they get a third job to support their family's and provide the luxury of health care?

How are you going to pay for the elderly that have already past their time they are able to work?

How is someone with a severe medical problem (like Multiple Sclerosis) get a job so that they can ignore that job and spend their time in health care?

Sorry politicians are not willing to tell people that they must pay MORE (for expensive health care) for the sake of others. Its does not win votes.

NEWS FLASH!
More and more big companies are leaning toward supporting a national health care plan because it's getting too expensive even for them.
GM & Ford are the leading this issue right now.

I suppose you could slash prices for drugs- I don't know why, but they seem to cost there twice as much as anywhere else, which of course makes no sense in the freemarket model, of free competition unless there's a cartell.

Not if there is oversite to the process. I don't want to pay billions in tax dollars for a think tank who never gets results. I also don't want to see politicians getting funding from any people involved in the process as they would be bought instead of looking out for the intrest of the working man.
