3.6 GPA is great! The highest you can have 4.0. College is scary at first for everyone. Remember when you went from elementary school to high school? That was scary but you did it. It's the same idea. College is awesome, it's normal to feel nervous at first, but it won't last long. Good luck!

It depends on the school you go to. If you want design school somewhere in the states I would suggest Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). I'm not sure how hard it is there. I do know that how hard college is all depends on the type and amount of classes you take (I would say 12 units is good for your first semester) and make sure that you're not taking classes that would be hard to do together like taking Physics and Chemistry in the same semester. It just makes things really hard on you. A 3.6 GPA is actually fairly decent, unless you're trying to go to somewhere like Harvard or Stanford. Most schools will list the average high school GPA of their incoming freshman. It's on their website usually. You can search for schools that would fit you if you use certain websites. fastweb.com will let you search for schools.
Good luck.

I was not to scared, but then again, I didn't leave my country (or even the state). Your GPA is great. The way you know if you are smart enough to go is if you get accepted. Apply to any school you want, all they can do is tell you "no".

First, you will have to take the ACT and/or the SAT to get into college. I attend the University of Minnesota (Minneapolis/St. Paul), and we only had to take the ACT (not the SAT). It also really helps to be active in your school (ex. being in clubs, sports) or to volunteer.
Also, if you let a college know that you are really interested in being in student groups, that helps. I told them I really wanted to be involved on campus (even thought I never got involved)! :)
Also, apply to mulltiple colleges!! It is more difficult to get into college these days. You could apply to a couple design schools, a couple of colleges that offer a major in 'Design,' etc... It really depends on what your goals are.
GOOD LUCK!

i go to college in the US, but not at a design school. your GPA is really solid, you will definitely find a nice design school. i think almost all colleges require a standardized test (ACT, SAT) as another factor for admissions. good luck!
