My boyfriend, has a badly infected finger. He is a veteran (served in Iraq for 13 months) and does not have health insurance (we're both full-time students). He went to the VA to have it looked at and they said that they can get him in until mid-FEBRUARY!!!! For an acute infection? Why don't we give the VA more funding...and don't say it is the Libs...we have had a R-Congress and President for 6 years. I just don't think that any party particularly supports the troops more than another, unless of course sending them to war is considered supporting them.

The truth is, that now that you have more veterans than ever, the government just can't afford to treat them. There's even rumours that soldiers returning from war are misdiagnosed to be more healthy than they are in order to save money.

I don't know why you'd insinuate that the Rs would drive for a better healthcare for veterans- as I understand it, wasn't it in their policy to abolish state paid medical treatment altogether

As a full-time student, why couldn't he go to the campus health clinic?

The VA cannot afford to provide complete medical coverage for all veterans, it has to restrict coverage to those with service-related disabilities.

Austin girl...this is of my biggest irk's with the administration and the Republican party.... They have talking points but their policies are exactly the opposite of their talking points;;;; For example; 1) Support The troops...it takes more to support the troops than a yellow ribbon shaped magnet on the back of their stupid SUV... It takes insurance and money when the come home..they never support the troops ...just the war...They ask John Kerry to apologize to the troops for a bad joke....But never apologize for this needless Iraqi quagmire and the lack of armour and lack of help when our heroes come home....That is supporting the troops......The other position they have the talking point for is ...Pro Life: They are not prolife...they are pro-fetus...They do not give a damn about the baby or mother once it is born....I hate it so much, If you guys lived near me I would get you into my hospital free of charge ...Tn...good luck...head up and thank him for his service to our country..

The VA does not have to help with non military related injuries unless the person is retired from the military. Did he retire or just get out due to EOS. I
