First of all I don't think that Islamification of America is a possibility anywhere in the near future unless the democrats come in and screw everything up. Second of all if more people knew about Islam then they might not be so quick to jump on the band wagon and call for a retreat from Iraq. In fact if Americans weren't so ignorant and looked into things before they went jumping to anything then America would probably be in a lot better shape. Did you know that there are over 100 million Islamic believers around the world? If we were really generous and said that only 1% wanted to kill Christians, and by Christians I mean all Americans because that is how they see America, then that means there are over 1 million Islamics that wish Americans to die. The number in all reality is closer to 14% which means there are 14 million Islamics that wish to kill Americans. Islam is a threat to America and if the American government and its people do not take action there could be severe consequences.

Whats the difference with what the Christians are doing now? there are tons of christian lobbyist set up in the DC, as well as Jewish lobbyist. With a war going on, it isn't that unusual that a group of people who are directly affected by the war wants to be heard by the country that is doing the policy. The idea that America will then become Islamified is sort of ridiculous. Religion, at least in this country, is a freedom of choice. The government can not push one religion over the other, though Christianity certainly has found a way around that.

PS. I am a christian, so I don't mean to make this look as if I am coming down hard on them.

The actual intent seems to be religious tolerance, with a strong tilt toward Islam tolerance. On the one hand, the resolution adheres to the Islamic belief that the Qu'ran is a holy book which should never be treated with disrespect.

On the other hand, the condemnation of any violence based on religious belief does not follow Islam, as Islam warrants violence as a means of spreading and maintaining the Islamic faith.

Since in America, the burning of the flag is a form of free speech, I imagine that any American court which abides by the Constitution would view, say, burning the Qu'ran as a protected freedom of speech as well. Or at least, it should.

I think it is appropriate for the govt to protect the civil rights of its citizens, including freedom of speech.

I also think that the govt should stay the hell out of religion and vice versa.

The elements of the Resolution are:
(1) condemns bigotry, acts of violence, and intolerance against any religious group, including our friends, neighbors, and citizens of the Islamic faith;

(2) declares that the civil rights and civil liberties of all individuals, including those of the Islamic faith, should be protected;

(3) recognizes that the Quran, the holy book of Islam, as any other holy book of any religion, should be treated with dignity and respect; and

(4) calls upon local, State, and Federal authorities to work to prevent bias-motivated crimes and acts against all individuals, including those of the Islamic faith.

I love the word "Islamification". Islam wants everyone in the world to be a Muslum. It is so written in the Koran. Their goal is to convert all other religions and generally non-believers to Islam.
I intend to convert because I want to meet the 72 virgins who are up in heaven. Not that I can handle 72 virgins but it would be nice to meet them.

well i am for every celebrating and worshipping any diety they wish. muslims are no different than anyone else. yes there are some who killed in the name of God (they should killed and tortured slowly) but their are chrisitians (like those jerks in oklahoma) who bomb also. the 1st amendment gives everyone freedom of religion (which also included the right not to practice religion at all). i am not a muslim however, i am not going to condemn and entire people for what few have done. that is ignorant and low class. oh and to the woman "Race Relations Today" calling another woman a whore is not exactly helping the plight of women now is it. Why don't you try worrying about Human Relations before the race because before we are a woman, man, black or white we are all human first.

No that is not what we want. That is not what the American people what but sadly it is what our elected officials due to us. Politicians have there own agendas which usually has little to do with the will of the people.
