Maybe it's because he relies on Fox "News" for his "information". A few years ago, a university study found that people who relied mainly on Fox for coverage of the war in Iraq were more likely to be misinformed than those who relied on other news sources.

Don't get all that upset about Bill O'Reilly. Despite holding a degree in journalism - O'Reilly is NOT a journalist. He is a "news analyst" - which is completely different. He is political "entertainment" - much like pro wrestling is sports "entertainment". His job relies on his ratings - not on any skills he may have as a journalist. If he loses ratings big time, he'll be gone - just like any old TV show or sitcom.
It's ENTERTAINMENT - you can ignore him completely without fear that somehow you're missing out on something newsworthy.

Bill O'Reilly is an entertainer. Not a good one, however. He is not a news guy and he is definitely not a journalist. He plays to his base. He plays to the Fox base. He knows what they want to hear. The problem I have for this is that it is dangerous. While he plays to his base, he neglects telling the truth. People believe what he is saying and that is where the danger lies.

He really is not ignorant. He just acts that way for TV. He has to act like a know it all and has all of the answers is arrogant and won't let anyone besides him have a opinion that is worth listening to. It's all part of his TV act.

He's not ignorant. He knows very well that militant Islam wants to end the USA and the West and that motivates them in Iraq. That's just a fact. Most on the left think it's a Karl Rove trick.

It is not about him being ignorant it is about him forcing his political agenda and making money out of the real ignoramuses who watch him and buy his totally hypocritical product lines.
And for as far as his rating which the wingnuts comment about are going down the toilet faster than diarrhea.
