How about a Chinese one, the Butterfly Lovers?? (Or Liang Shan Bo and Zhu Yingtai- the Chinese title)
Summary: Headstrong rich girl goes to men only school in China, diguised as a man. Fell in love with a poor scholar. Both pledge undying love to one another. Girl's identity was found by school, sent home. Poor scholar reaches girl's home with proposal only to be scorned by the father. Father then arranged marriage for the girl with a richer old man.
Scholar, despairing, died of pneumonia.
Girl commits suicide on hearing the news.
Fathers finally relents, allowing the lovers to be buried together.
A pair of butterflies appears, flitting around the headstones. Butterflies believed to be the lovers spirit, finally reunited, hence the name Butterfly Lovers
