Many businesses would thrive better if employees were treated kindly but firmly and praised for their efforts when they do well. Taught that any insubordination or bad manners will not be tolerated. Monthly meetings would be a good idea. Also an open invitation to discuss any problems or to welcome new ideas.

You could hire me as a consultant... but you probably are not interested in that so... a few examples
Problem solving.... team building, thinking outside of the box (god awful example but still useful), utilising the groups social, experential and educational knowledge... brain storming etc etc
Coping... coping strategies... defining the objectives and identifying the tactics and tools available
Interpersonal skills... try talking for a start, develop trust, buil confidence, praise achievement, test theories and remember there in not a wrong answer... only with hindsight and as long as we learn from our mistakes, mistakes can be accepted...
Impossible here to give you the whole of the reportoire here...

There are many courses available on these subjects and no doubt free advice on the internet. There will be books available from your local library too. All it will take is some research on your part to find the answers to your questions which will require a little time and effort. Good luck in solving this problem. Who was it said that every problem is really an opportunity to learn?
