"I want to marry my dog"
Ok there's your example. It is a slippery slope argument. The institution of marriage was intended to be a sacred bond between one man and one woman. What happens when you go outside of that? The next step is polygamy. Why shouldn't a man marry his favorite 12 women? Let's take it farther: Why shouldn't a man marry a young boy, if the boy is consenting? Why shouldn't beastiality be acceptable to the government as legit? What about incest? Why shouldn't a woman be allowed to marry a tree?

The danger is the cheapening of marriage and making a mockery of it. This breeds apathy, which is what brought down the Roman Empire.

No examples can be given, because above statement is not true.

Economy, disease, religion, war... all those things can bring down nations but gay marriage just can't.

Religious folk might well argue that it is immoral and messes with the holy sanctity of the marriage vows etc... but considering the prevalence of 'immorality' in general, and the scant regard that a lot of straight couples seem to view marriage, I would hardly bother adding gay marriage onto the list of noteworthy sins, even if you really think it is.

Well in the Netherlands they had muslim bombings which came after the legalization of gay marriage so that could be a tie in....RIGHT???

How do bigots work these reasonings????

I guess when they get married they'll start having gay sex and adopting and living together....NO WAIT, this is already happening.

Maybe when they get married the invisibility shield comes off and my kid will be able to see them....

NO, that's no working either.

I guess I need more hate to come up with a good answer.

Silly question.

it does'nt, its the religous rights that brings down a nation. this whole country is based on religion..its sad really...not everyone believes in the church so why do we all have to live by it...isnt there other things in this world to be worrying about, other than why we should or why we shouldnt get married...why cant we all just get along equally...we are all human after all..or are we??

What is more natural? Take the animals of the sea, or just fish. If all the fish suddenly decided to become Gay! What would feed the whales. Going to the bible for just a sec. God created Man and Woman, Not man and man, or woman and woman! If a blessing should come to a nation would God pick a straight nation? or a Gay nation! Make sense? Seems you already knew the answer, down deep in your heart. Hope this helps...

It doesn't. In every nation that allows Same sex marriage, there has been absolutely no negative effect upon it.

I think it's funny watching those that continue to post slippery slope arguments as if they are valid.(hint...they aren't)

it doesn't. people are typically afraid of change, and this is a big one. Also, too many people are old fashioned and have strong religious belifes that controdict with accepting gays. I feel bad for those people.

It doesn't. I have no problem with it. Do not hit on me through emails, though. I think it's natural, but it is definitely not me. I have no problem with it.
