Best and cheapest have car repair in Aurora Co 80017 with miles to correct this problem. Was tune up last 12 months. No problem car in motion, 25+ miles per gallon city driving, no back fire or skipping. Firestone tire shop been shop repair I been using.

The PCV vacuum hose gets mushy and opens up allowing a vacuum leak on the escorts. I'm sure you will find it to be your problem. Open the hood while the car is running and listen for a hissing sound as the engine is sucking vacuum from the leaking hose
