I'm against abortion. However, it is essential that abortion is kept legal.
I am against abortion because it's a bad result. A better result would be adoption. However, sometimes that is not possible, etc. so abortion needs to be kept legal.
I think everyone would agree that fewer abortions would be a good thing.
The best way to achieve this goal is by preventing unwanted pregnancies.
The best way to prevent unwanted pregnancies is birth control (be it the pill or condoms or any other kind).
So, we need to make birth control available and affordable to everyone, and above all, WE NEED TO MAKE SURE EVERYONE KNOWS HOW TO USE IT!!!
That is not happening currently, because sex education is based on abstinence, not real education. All young adults are taught is that sex is bad, and you shouldn't have sex. Now, encouraging abstinence is great, but that's not sex education. Young adults need to be taught factual information about what birth control and other forms of protection are, and how to use it properly. That way, when they have sex (Yes, it WILL happen. People have sex. Get over it!), they will know how to prevent pregnancy.
Everyone who discusses whether abortion should be legal or not is missing the point. Failing to see the forest for the trees, so to speak. People get bogged down talking about if it's moral or a sin or they talk about how horrible it is to the fetus. Those things are totally irrelevant. Nobody thinks abortion is the best thing that can happen. So, everyone is, in a sense, against abortion. So, we all need to stop discussing abortion, and find ways to prevent unwanted pregnancies!
If there were no unwanted pregnancies, there would be almost zero abortions. (Obviously rape, incest, and medical problems would be exceptions.)
So! Instead of talking about whether you're "for" or "against" abortion, we should talk about how to prevent them, by preventing unwanted pregnancies.

I'm pro choice. I don't think any woman, no matter her age or reasons should be denied the right to have an abortion. It is her body and if she does not wish to be a mother then she shouldn't be. Many people say that if you don't want to be a parent then don't have sex but come on, be realistic. Sex is not just for pro creation anymore and the human race is certainly not dieing out. Do people really want women becoming mothers who do not want to be? It will more likely lead to neglect of the child. And no adoption is not always the best option. Unless you are able to track down a couple that your for sure will take care of that child then no. We have millions of children already waiting for good homes and most will never have one and will remain in system till adults, having never known the love of a real family. Those are just a couple of my pro choice reasons, if I kept going it would be too long to read.

Abortion should be a choice. Nobody wants to get rid of their own baby unless they have a very genuine reason. Like monetary conditions etc. A woman has full right to pick her future. Further more even if we forget the mother we have to think about the baby. If the mother doesn’t want it, but is forced to keep it, will the kid have a happy life? NO! If the mother is not proud of what she has done or of the father she might always blame the kid and make the child feel bad about his/her own birth. The child DOES NOT need to bare the burden of the mistake/s made by his/her mother. If u want to have kids u better be ready or don’t have one….cuz u have no right to ruin that kid’s life!
If I have the right to have sex, and being human I can make mistakes, then I have the right to abort. But I have no right to ruin the future and life of “my unwanted” child.

I'm totally abortion! Yes it's her body, her choice. But what about the choice of the human inside your belly? They didn't choose for you to have sex. They are just a result. Too many people are taking the easy way out and just don't want the responsibilities. And what about the father? Many men would want to raise their child.
Also, if a woman is pregnant and is killed, the person that did it can be charged with murder for 2 people. Not just the mother. An unborn baby is still a human being.
Have you ever seen pictures of an abortion?Heard the details of what they do to extract the child from the mothers womb? It's much less painful to carry the child to term and delivery and then put the child up for adoption. In most cases, the mother sees her baby and changes her mind.

I am against abortion and I don't beliave for a minute that just because it's your body you should have the choice. It takes two people to make a baby therefore I think the guy should have some kind of say in the matter. The moment the sperm hits egg it's a baby and a abortion would be murder. If you know you don't won't kids than get fixed. I think people should be more responsible.

Abortion is a very sad thing. I have known many women who years after having an abortion who have trouble with depression and guilt due to having made the choice they made. It is not a decision you make and then forget. It lives with you forever.
I personally am pro-life. I was 17 when I became pregnant with my first child, the father denied that the baby was his, and I was on my own. Abortion was not ever a choice in my decision. I considered adoption, but in the end decided that I made the decision to lay down with the boy who got me pregnant and it was my responsibility to raise what we had created. That was 17 years ago, and I am truly content in my decision to keep my child. That was the only acceptable choice for me.
I have been happily married to a man who has raised my daughter like his own (even adopting her) for the past 15 years. He is the only Daddy she has ever known. We now have 2 more children and I know that things worked out like it was supposed to. Sometimes becoming pregnant is not the end of the story, but just the beginning.

I think it is a womens choice. How can someone else say what is right for another person. We dont know every womens cercumstances. I also dont think that it is our business to make a women explain to a judge or other person her reasons. If she was raped or had some other horrible experience she should not have to tell everyone. That is very personal. I think as long as a women is not using abortion for birth control it is not anyone elses business. She is the one who has to live with it. Also, if she believes in god, she will be judged by him and only him. Thats not to say only if you believe in god you are judged. I am saying that is between her and god. Some one above said that incest, rape, molestation would be exceptions. Why does the person have to explain what happened to anyone? That is very personal. Some people choice not to report it. Mainly, because the way the courts are set up they make a women look like the pig. I for one would not be victimized twice.

I'm not against it...I don't encourage women to have abortions, but I do firmly believe it should be an option available to us. I've chosen not to have children (I'm 41) and if I had ever gotten pregnant or were to do so in the future, I'd want that option available to me.
Those that believe it's not the right thing to do, have a right to believe that and should not get one...but that should not affect the rest of us from having that choice.

Its a baby unless its unwanted, then its a fetus.
Abortion is only okay if the baby can choose to kill its unwanted parents.
I found this while surfing an answer to another question... it speaks volumes.
"There are no national statistics on how many people are waiting to adopt, but experts estimate it is somewhere between one and two million couples.1
Every year there are about 1.3 million abortions. Only 4% of women with unwanted pregnancies give their children up for adoption. Suppose somehow, incredibly, we were able to increase this from 4% to 50% tomorrow. Even at that rate (and assuming that all these children could make their way through the social services burocracy overnight), it would still take two to four years just to satisfy the present waiting lists."
Abortion is never okay.
