This is something im definately going to do ! just havent figured out what country yet ! - as far as the language is concerned as soon as ive had some good feedback i'll make my decision on which country and start learning the language - lol and learn the rest as I go along !

I moved to norway. There is a lot of work in the Offshore oil and gas industry, plus of course the service industries.
Life here is great - low crime, good working conditions, excellent wages and the unions are very strongly in support of the worker (Overtime, sick pay, vacation time etc). There is a good expatriate community too, and everybody speaks English.

Downside is the taxation and cost of living but if you are financially self sufficient, then I would really recommend it.

the language isn't so bad to learn either!

Good luck !!

You do need to consider language requirements before going to a country to work there. In the west of the Netherlands, it's fairly easy to get work if you don't speak Dutch, but you do need it if you plan on living and working outside of this area. You need German for most of Germany and Austria, and unless you are fluent in Spanish, forget Spain as they have no time for English-speakers unless those English-speakers are trained teachers of English as a foreign language. Ireland might be a good bet for you.

Also, make sure you bring with you all kinds of qualifications on paper, this is very important for countries like the Netherlands, where they are not interested unless you can show that you are specifically trained for the job.

The best thing to do is go to an international jobs website - hell, they're all international now - enter your qualifications and/or profession and see where your best opportunities may be. Bear in mind too that many companies prefer to employ EU nationals because it costs them more to employ non-EU nationals as they have to have visas and that kind of thing, so you might want to try and get the job set up before you actually travel.

If you are happy to do more menial labouring or bar work then Southern Spain would be worth considering. There are many Brits done here running their own businesses so you should be able to find work amongst them until you pick up the language. The Spanish are pretty accepting of all the foriegners that have invaded their shores of late and don't put up too many obstacles to you working here.Have alook at my site for loads of info on the Costa del Sol and Spain in general.

Try Ireland they have a lot of pharmaceutical companies, they do research and manufacture drugs, also I believe Topps or one of the baseball card companies has a factory there.
