This is meant to be a philosophical question, not a technical one. I know the technical detail of why birthing hurts. I was hoping for a phiosophical answer.

Dlin333 is right.
With a little prenatal teaching,the momma and dad can learn techniques to have a much more comfortable labor and delivery. There are specific classes to help prepare one for labor. They are called Lamaze classes.

well, i believe its just simply a matter of biology, the pre birth time is painful, the actual conception, and birthing, should not be,,,, its the muscles contracting, to open the cervix(sp sorry)that causes the pain,,, any contracting of your muscles is painful
