Well on average about -33% of people taking math tests in the world are actually taking them with number 3 pencils. That makes the tests absolutely inprocessable and that is how 5 out of 4 people do not know the processes involved in solving complex fractions and statistics for that matter. So yes. It must be true

cute. No, but 95% of people don't. Only about 10% of high school kids get as far in math as Algebra 2, where compound fractions are taught, and only about half of them get it. If you include the general population of adults who no longer use much math at all, then over 99% of people don't understand compound fractions.

forget compound fractions! my neighbor in ontario could not figure out how to measure 1/3 of a can of soup. I just agreed with her that it was tricky. after some further discussion, she seemed to know what 1/2 of a can was, but, I just couldn't bring myself to show her what a 1/3 of a can would be. she had no idea.
