I would most definitely recommend it! I've seen the Lion King twice - on Broadway and the touring production. The show is significantly longer than the movie because several songs were added to lengthen the show. Both times I saw the show, there were a LOT of young children in the audience and they seemed to love it. I'd recommend that you watch the movie with your daughter so she knows the basic story. However, even if she's not old enough to really get into the music and everything, the visuals in the show are AMAZING (the costumes, sets, etc.) and should easily be able to hold her attention. Hope you enjoy this marvelous show!!

I saw the Lion King on stage during its first Tenure and I loved it.
I was reluctant to go because I couldn't understand 1) Why the tickets were so doggone expensive; and 2) How in the world they'd be able to pull of an animated movie on stage.
I left the performance impressed. But I'm not certain if your 4-year old daughter would really get the beauty of it. When I attended it the audience was basically an adult crowd, few children were in attendance.
Have you considered Disney's World on Ice? Now that's beautiful for kids of all ages.

I loved the San Francisco stage production but it was really at a level for adults or older high schoolers. The grade school group seemed restless. I would never take a child under 8 - 10 yrs old to live theater unless it is a performance set up especially for children. The grade schoolers kicking the seats was very disruptive to the other patrons. They had to take a number of them out and that process makes it unpleasant for people trying to follow the performance.
Maybe they have a kids matinee ?

I absolutely recommend it! It's an amazing show. It is a little long, but not terribly so. If your daughter has a long attention span, she'll be fine. Also, I would recommend getting tickets on the main floor, in the center if you can get it. The animals coming down the aisles is one the most amazing parts of the show. It'll make your daughter's year!

Depends on your daughter - is she capable of sitting through an entire movie/show yet? You could always leave at intermission if she gets really antsy. It's pretty well balanced throughout, if she liked the movie she should find enough in the show to keep her interested.
I think she'd definitely enjoy it, at least the first half - make sure she can sit near the aisle to get a good view of the parade of animals - for most youngsters this is the best part!

It was a great show! Alot to look at. As someone said before, it depends if she can sit through an entire show.
I suggest taking her to a matinee. There would probably be more children there. I can say I was bothered by a kid behind us asking his dad every few seconds "What did they say? What was that". Cute, but hey, I paid $100 for my tickets too ya know.
I agree with Barrett G

I think it's ridiculous to take a 4 year old to something so expensive.
