Yes, depends on the severity of the injury though. A tendon is the connective tissue that joins a muscle belly to bone. If you completely tear the attachment away from the bone, it will need to be surgically repaired. However, if the damage is just a tear in the tendon it can heal on its' own with rest and basic rehab.

Hi yes a torn tendon can be repaired, but they can heal on there own but this is a long progress thou usually a couple off mths depending how bad you have torn it.It can be surgically repaired this is only if it hasent repaired by its self or if you are in alot off pain and discomfort.Go see you gp/dr he will fully examine you,and he will decide what treatment you need weather you need to be referred or not.Good Luck

I remember tearing my cruciate ligament, and there was talk of an operation where carbon-fibre could be sewn-in to mend and strengthen it. Needless to say, it was all talk and it didn't happen, and it mended itself in time.
Probably an expensive procedure, and not being some sort of high-priced sportsman I expect I didn't warrant it. Not even sure if the procedure truly existed anyway. Google job??

ooo ouch! yes it can but it takes a long time. Rest it. Rest it some more. Then visit a decent sports physio who can do some magic fingery stuff on it and give you some good excercises to help build up strength in the area.
