granted he's not as intelligent as hitler was, think of it like aryan nations, only it's not based on looks. he wants to make every nation like america under the guise of freedom. we all know there's underlying reasons. it's just a shame so many of our men and women are dying for it, along with the innocent people in the other nations.

24. i can vote, i voted for bush in fact. it's not something i regret as i think kerry would have been the bigger mistake. i know exactly what hitler did and i believe bush would be willing to go that far if he thought god told him to do, and he could get away with it.

i want the other nations to be our equals but leave them to their own beliefs, don't try to bend them to ours.

some of you are excessively dramatic. i mean really. it's a question posed on a website. if you're that horribly bothered then please don't answer. i'm looking for actual opinions, not responses questioning my knowledge of history. i love to read and i've spent time studying what i'm referring to.

I have to say no. Hitler was nobody's patsy. His ruthless path to power was strewn by more murders and say what you will, he had an ethos. I think an interesting perspective is that too many people took George Bush seriously and FAR too few took Hitler seriously. Hitler, a combat veteran decorated witth the Iron Cross as a dispatch runner knew far more about war than GWB ever would. I am not seeing a GWB cult, ( or MUCH of one) , Hitler on the other hand was larger than life and delusional - ( bush is also delusional however ) , and I don't think that HATE is at the core of Bush's being, nor do I see the gleam of fanaticism and meglomania in Bush. Could Bush ever create anything even close to National Socialism ?
Did Bush rescue America from a depression and put its citizens to work and does the nation swear alliegance to Bush?
Also, can you entertain the idea of Hitlers father having to rescue the Nazi Party / Hitler admin from its foreign policy failures.
Bush is a " LITE" dictator wannabe. He won't hold a candle to Napoleon, Louis the XIV, Cromwell, Tameraline, Fra Savronola, Mussollini, Julius Ceaser, or even Huey Long.
He is a different kind of political insect. In a way I think his dad is beyond miffed at how badly his son performed when Bush 41 gave Bush 43 the presidency. Yes there are some parallels but I just don't see the raging narcicissm and egotistical mania of Hitler in Bush. I would love to see the Neocon archetects of his presidency held accountable. Good question.

I am with the others who see the Hitler/Bush comparison as just some tired old rhetoric.
I spent sometime in Germany this summer and I agree with Smartgrrl. The neo nazis and rightwingers are the ones who use the Bush and Hitller comparison. They use it to diminish what their hero, Hilter, did during his reign. To say Bush is like Hitler is too harsh on GWB but that isn't the problem. The problem is you are also saying that Hitler is no worse than Bush and that is just what neo-nazis want to hear. Most neo-nazis and right wing Europeans despise the USA. Your analogy please people we do not want to be pleasing.

The factthat you can ask this question on an American owned website proves that Bush is nothing like Hitler.
My guess is you are a jealous, ignorant little fool for even asking the question.
As for making other nations like America, maybe if we could do so it would stop the flood of people coming to America because they know America is a better place to live than the pathetic countries that America has been trying to help for the last 100 years.

Good Gawd. This question was posed to my friend's grandma who survived the holocaust - her parent died as did her baby sister. She came to the US with an aunt who also escaped. When this comment came up at lunch one day she was livid. She can not believe the audacity of people who ask this (stale and not very original) question. "You have no idea how good you have it here."
edit - oh I read your question right. You don't like a lot of the answers. Look, I don't like GWB and i certainly don't like what is happening in Iraq, he has created a mess but to compare him to Hitler makes no sense.
The Hitler/Bush comparison plays into the unsavory side in revisionist discourse, a fact which may not be obvious to non-Europeans. Germany has a culture of "coming to terms with" the past. The vast majority of Germans understand that the 13-year Nazi dictatorship in Germany was a one of terror, bloodshed, and evil virtually without parallel in modern history. If you say that George W. Bush is somehow worse or the same as Adolf Hitler, you are also saying that Hitler was less reprehensible than Bush.
By comaparing Bush to Hitler you trivialize the crimes of the Third Reich. In Europe it is Neo-nazis, and other people with right-wing tendencies that spout the Bush/Hitler crap. And I would hazard a guess that you don't fit either of those catergories.

Hitler prompted an whole nation to kill that many individuals. He was once an excessively well public speaker. Bush, good you all understand, he are not able to pronounce functional phrases, and the American individuals are not being prompted via his speeches.

This kind of stuff cracks me up!!!
you seem to be suggesting that freedom is a "guise"... when tens of thousands try to enter this country every year, do you HONESTLY think they would if there was even the SLIGHTEST resemblance???
You say Bush isn't as intelligent as Hitler with no facts to back that statement up ( other then your obvious frustration )
Also... the men and women in our military are there because the CHOOSE to be there... and how many innocent people are murdered by suicide bombers as opposed to US bullets and bombs???
No Bush ISNT the new Hitler... the new Hitler just got sentenced to hang in Iraq....

No he is not. As for his desire to make Iraq a free country well I hope it works. There is the possibility that their culture may not be able to function as ours due to a different belief system but I do think they were ready to get out from under Saddam's thumb. I don't believe any country wants a leader that practices genocide on his fellow countrymen.

What ties "W" with Hitler isn't intelligence. "W" is surrounded by "yes" people who don't have the intelligence Hitlers "yes " people had. Some how Bush seems to ignore the fact the world hates his ability to be unaware.

I have heard this comparison before. The only difference is that Bush doesn't have totalitarian control over his country and never will. There is a difference between walking the world with a big stick and ethnic cleansing.
