Not that I'm being insecure or anything- I don't have a problem with blonde beauty being admired as long as she's actually pretty, like Marilyn Monroe, but why is it considered "all-American"? I mean, a pretty dark woman whose people have been in this country for centuries is considered less all-American than Pamela Anderson, who's Canadian! Yet she's dubbed "America's Sweetheart"? Give me a break! And I think there's more bleached blondes than natural blondes. So wouldn't that make blonde, if anything, exotic?

fair-haired women were considered symbolical beauties in Shakespeare's time ...yet his model was a very dark -haired lady,so mysterious and passionate! As for blondies being "all American"I think this is only a stereotype for show bizz...just think a little, aren't the Scandinavian girls fair-haired and blue-eyed?yes ...almost all of them are! It's usually because of the climate there cold and snow so the complexion of the people living there is lighter the same their eyes and hair!I'm a natural blondie and I really don't like those who try to imitate this colour by dying thir hair!It looks so false....well....

i will see why it would be stressful.....I even have study someplace that folk from Europe are those that have a tendency to have the blonde hair blue eyes, and American human beings like a hundred% individuals have a white/ blonde hair or mild brown, yet maximum have brown eyes. those with eco-friendly eyes tend to be mixed. i will see how that would desire to be actual, because of the fact i'm mixed and characteristic those olive eco-friendly eyes. yet another difficulty....blondes are BIMBOS...god I hate that, cuz, i comprehend this is so no longer actual. Haters only arise with the stupidest issues....

"All-American" is just a slogan that people use to try to sell you something. There isn't one particular "look" that could define what "Americans" are supposed to look like. I mean, this is the same country that calls true Native Americans "Indians" despite knowing that this is not India. America is a reflection of the rest of the world and it's always been that way. Our country was built by people of every color. Despite what the media tries to sell us, people tend to judge what beauty is on their own.

I think of the blonde haired blue eyed to be more about American boys rather than girls.
You're right it is stupid. I think someone just made it up years ago and started telling people but no one really thinks that apart from people who are blue eyed and blonde haired. lol have you noticed that?

I think the whole thing with American women is more about the fakeness and hollywood image. So certainly big boobs and bottle blonde hair, but remember the key here is it's unnatural blonde.
I didn't know she was Canadian! ooh.

I think of Swedish people more for blone haired blue eyed women, or maybe even Austrailian, before American. But maybe that's just me. (british btw)

I think it's really all to do with Hollywood. Remember it's only relatively recently that people of different skin colours and such were seen as beauties in the mainstream and given the chance to represent American women.

I didn't realize that was considered 'all-American'...I do recall that was Hitler's idea of the perfect race. I also did not know that Pamela Anderson is called 'America's Sweetheart." Where are you getting your information from?

if you have blonde hair that will naturally get bleached by the sun in the summer. There had been this guy in my class who also had golden blonde hair that was a medium brown near the bottom part. When he came back to university after summer vacation, it was practically platinum blonde!

The reason why is everyone with blond, why cannot you just have jet black hair with some blonde or blonde hair with some jet black hair. Right now you don't have to choose.

That's so stupid. There's no such thing as all american or less american or ANY AMERICAN.
It doesn't matter what color your features are, you wont be more or less American because of it.
It's just one of those stupid things that just doesn't make sense.
It slipped out of someone's mouth and everyone started to repeat it.
