Neither. They both speak directly about the other person. People portray themselves in ways they don't understand and show that they don't understand. My being ugly to them only reflects that they don't have a preference for my looks. And I should assume that you're only speaking about the outward appearance. There could also be a jealousy, self worth and just plain ignorance behind that comment as well. I hold steadfast that the good Lord created me as I AM and there's not one thing I wish to have changed. So I would conclude that the other person has issues. And since the other person made the comment it's his/her issue to deal with anyway. I couldn't change because they thought I was ugly and I don't feel the same way.
No. 2 - the most intelligent person in the world does not know everything. Perhaps there's some chance I may know something that this person does not. I'm sure that I do - I know about me. And the other person cannot speak for me so who is this person but an insecure person who needs a crutch to lean on when he/she calls me stupid. He/she should be very careful that using me as their crutch does not give out from underneath this person. To label me stupid or any other label tells me that this person needs to feel superior and does not know how to accept him/herself for who they are. They have a deeper issue with them then I would receive being called stupid. They also must have control over something because they are out of control. The need to even have the desire to inflict pain upon someone else's ego is someone who didn't get enough love and attention from parents. When you are loving yourself, people's comments roll off like a duck in water. But if you took the same dose of comments and threw them at the other person, he/she would get upset. So tell me where does the problem lie.

I would be more depressed upset if someone called me ugly because I'm already self-conscious about my looks. I don't need anyone rubbing it in.
I would be more angry upset if someone called me stupid because I know I'm not stupid. I have my moments like everyone else on this planet but other than that I have an average-above average intelligent level.

I would be more upset with someone calling me ugly, only because I try hard to look good.

Neither. If that's their opinion they are entitled to it, and I probably won't choose to interact with them anymore anyway.
