all the preps in my school think there better than everyone and they think they are the hotest things in the school and everyone hates it so why do they do it?

they're preps enough said.... and i guess they like the attention so just dont give it to the idiots.

It's probably the way they were brought up. Usually "preps" are from rich families who are used to being treated with a form of respect called "kissing a$$". This is what they're used to, and this is what they expect from others.

Cause they're PREPS. It is a rule to belong in the clique.

Cuz by hating them you are allowing them to feel envied by yourself and the entire school. They think you hate them because you aren't them. You need to ignore them, once they aren't getting any recognition from anyone (good or bad) they will see where they really stand.

They don't think they're the best. They're just as insecure as you are, which, by the way, is why other people's attitudes bother you so much.
