A Marine Corps reservist was sentenced to six months in military jail after pleading guilty to negligent homicide for the shooting death of a comrade in their Iraq barracks.

Lance Cpl. Michael C. Fulcher, 21, was sentenced Tuesday at a Camp Lejeune court-martial, at which he also pleaded guilty to negligent use of a firearm. He was not ordered to be discharged from the Marines.

It was apparently found to be an accident.

He's most likely going to punish himself daily more than any jail could. He probably knew and was buddies with the deceased....

If you go by what you just said it was an accident. It's tragic but an accident. We worry so much about soldiers doing criminal actions instead of bringing to light any good they are doing thats where the real crime is!

Was it an accident?
A civilian who accidently kills someone usually don't even get a jail term.
Military usually gives out stiffer terms than civilians.

Negligent homicide means accident.
The worst punishment for him is killing one of his brothers, soldiers have relationships with each other closer than you can imagine.
