I look more like my mother every day, sometimes in the morning it really gives me a jolt. WIll I get used to it ever?

It's kind of weird that after my mom died my dad said it was hard to have me around because I looked so much like her. But now, 10 years after she died, I look more like my father--same crinkles around my mouth, same jawline, same bright blue eyes (they used to be more gray). My brother, on the other hand, has more of my mother's traits--weird indeed!

Eventually you get used to it and accept it as something you can't control. Nature takes its course and you have to learn to roll with the punches. The thing I noticed most when my mother was starting to age was her "fan-pleated' lips. Now I have them. I just think of all the people who didn't have a chance to know what their parents looked like, so instead of focusing on the negative, I focus on the positive. I'm still here...and so is she. And for 61, I don't look so bad for an old broad. :)

LOL, I see my mother more and more in the mirror too, and you're right it is a suprise. Yeah, you get used to it, but relatives I haven't seen in awhile comment on the resembleance more now, than they ever did when I was younger. I'm 48.

Never, as it certainly drives my wife bonkers as she sees her mother looking back at her
