Small claims court is where you would go. But all laws are different from state to state. I don't know what are time limits etc. Check with your court house. But taking her to small claims could cost you. She may not show up or she may not pay you back. Take witnesses or have notarized statements from witnesses. Think about it and think, is it worth it? Is it worth your time? I say chalk it up as a lesson and press on with your life. Regards Belle 15:3

You worked with this person? How did they get so many of your belongings?

Don't waste money on a lawyer. Take her to small claims court and see if you can do anything about it. See what the wire-tapping laws are in your state, and, if you're allowed, tape her admitting that she threw away your items. DO NOT tell her that her admission will help you win your case, or she'll just lie in court.

Document exactly what she had of yours and get estimates of what it was worth. You can look for similar items on the Internet and print the pages. Take all of this paperwork to court with you. Judges love it when you are prepared. They will not do your work for you.

Of course, if you can't get her on record admitting that she threw away your possessions, I doubt that a judge will rule in your favor, because you could just be a scorned lover or some such thing trying to hurt her.

Good luck.

Call Judge Mathis

Check what the statutes of limitations are for something like this. You could be running out of time to bring a cause of action against her.
