Duck is oily and tastes "gamier" than chicken. It is essentially all dark meat so... if you like the chicken thighs you will like duck. There is not very much "meat" on a duck -- and again, it is very oily (fatty). It's a matter of personal preference. I suggest you try it, though. It never hurts to try something, even if you decide that you don't care for it that much.

We eat duck regularly, it does taste something like chicken. Duck is all dark meat so if you like the white you won't like duck as much as turkey. Duck is also very greasy, so if your going to try it, make sure you take a big fork and poke holes in it's back and put it on a rack in the pan so the duck doesn't lay in the fat while cooking.

It's pretty good. It's all dark meat hard to explain what it tastes like, but it's a nice change from turkey or chicken. If you do make one make sure you make the orange sauce as well.(just my opinion) It's much better with the orange souce. Most store boughten ducks come with a package of orange sauce inside of the body cavity.Personally I think that goose is better then duck chicken or turkey

I tastes a bit like chicken. A bit more chewy, though. I prefer Turkey over duck.

It's delicious. It's mainly dark meat, with more fat than chicken. The best I ate was an apple stuffed duck. Was wonderful. Much better than any turkey.

I have had duck three times. Once as a kid when my folks didn't know how to prepare it, I didn't enjoy it, too greasy. Second time was as a starter and I didn't know it was duck, delicious. Third time I ordered it in Peru and it was amazing, tasted like a cross between chicken and rare steak. So good.

heard that duck is good but I do believe it is more expensive than turkey. I have heard of people have duck or quail in place of turkey for Thanksgiving. You told that one woman stephanie m off!! That was such an ignorant question she asked.

I LOVE duck. It takes very like chicken, but a bit richer. The skin has more fat on it, so you should employ methods to cook it off (like prick or score the skin to let it run off), or remove it once cooked. Foodtv.com has great recipes.
I like to stuff it with herbs, score the skin, and roast it.

Duck is well tasty. I often eat "Crispy, aromatic duck" at chinese resteraunts. Duck also goes well with orange and is popular as a pate. Give it a try, you wont be dissapointed.
