First, be honest. If you lie to them your career will be short lived, you will lose creditability and would show as a flaw in your charter.
Before they hire you, this being your first job using your degree (assuming your degree is needed for this job) I am sure that they will ask for a certified transcript from the school.
The length between degree and job is relative to what you did during that time. If the gap between jobs is not that long, it usually is not a problem.
Don't bring it up, but more than likely they will. Tell them that after your break you are committed on pursuing what you started out with when you started your education (only say this if it is true).
