I don't see how anyone can 'win' a war, unless it's a bloodless one. Everybody loses.

wars are pointless and will always be pointless...its a political battle most wars are..but its all for nothing..we are living in a world that is doomed and no matter how many wars are fought or not fought..it wont change the directions that this world is headed in...the devil runs this world and that's why wars are abundant in it...GOD gave us free thinking to choose what we would like to do and what we think is best..but we as humans choose to destroy each other..think bout it...when you have a problem with another person if you were to be violent with that person you would go to jail ..but if "AMERICA" has a problem..we bomb them..so whats the difference...NOTHIN...u cant tell someone not to smoke then light up a cigarette while you are saying it...and "AMERICA" cant tell us not to be violent then go off and bomb a freaking country

Most wars are fought for the interests of the few powerful and secret men behind the scenes, while the general population is manipulated into thinking it is about some evil threat from outside. The few and powerful benefit greatly while the vast majority pays with their lives and property. It is a sad tale and as weapons and tech improve, the devastation promises to increase for the masses. Your question's answer depends on who you are asking about, the few or the many. For one it is yes, for the other a resounding no.

Wars are always lose lose for the general population, how those in pwere on both sides always seem to end up for the better. I long for the good old days when you would follow your leader into battle, not someone hidding so far underground a nuclear explosion wouldn't hurt them.

Yes and No. Each side looses man and resources. However, one side or another will gain the goal they went to war to achieve. Just a matter of what side wins.

655,000 Iraqi dead, 3000 Americans dead, many, many on both sides wounded and maimed for life, much of the country destroyed by bombs. I don't see a win in that for anybody, I wonder if trying to force democracy on this country is worth it.

Not necessarily. Israel gained land. Pakistan fought wars with India and gained part of Kashmir.

not necessarily. Each war has its own set of issues on both sides and it own dynamics. To group them all together in comparison is irresponsible and short sighted.
