My girlfriend has just bought a strapless dress, but finds it leaves her shoulders, arms and back too bared. What's the best way to cover it up, and look fabulous instead of frumpy?
It's a red and black tartan dress from Pilot, with a net underskirt. What would work?

People are far too judging. My girlfriend is not overweight: in fact she is very slim and slender. She likes her dress; just needs accessorycover-up ideas for when she doesn't want to show too much off.

She can use anything from a jacket to a sweater. She can also wear a shirt underneath, but that would depend on if she was trying to "dress down." A pair of long gloves would cover up her arms some.

Honestly, if you're concerned about showing too much, choosing a strapless dress was a bit of a mistake.
That aside, you can accessorize with a pretty shawl or a coordinating bolero.

A shawl would work or a short jacket or blazer that matches the dress of course. A scarf could be used.

Perhaps a short sholder cover shawl..
Even a little gauzy shawl...
However..
Strapless dresses are desigend to show the flesh...
above the breasts...Back, Arms, Chest....

If shes fat plss ask her to lose weight or she'll never look gr8 in that dress. But if the dress just doesnt suit her ask her to use a shawl or maybe a wrap.Or maybe she cud use a gud slopin necklace sumthin to draw away attention frm her naked flesh
Hope this helps

A very thin shawl, or just get another dress.
