My apologies for the above words of my fellow American. I'm sure Europe has it's share of idiots as well.

Ummmmmm.....history shows that the greatest constant is change.

The US has been on top of the heap for some time, & we have the crushing debt from overspending & living beyond our means to prove it. The EU is a creditor (lender of capital) to the world, while the US is by far the biggest & worst debtor. The Euro was worth $ 0.82 when created ~ a decade ago - it's worth $1.28 & rising as the relative worth of the US dollar continues to shrink against it and other world currencies.

The growth rate of GDP across the EU, when factoring in Germany absorbing East German poverty over the last 10 years is exactly equal to that of the US, sans debt.

In the EU, manufacturing is growing.
In the US, manufacturing is all but gone.

These trends took a long time to establish themselves & will not vanish by themselves: the EU frugality has its results, just as the US day of reckoning is inevitable.

The European Union is doing a fine job on their own. I am an American and I think they are as smart and just as good as we are...

The EU has already surpassed America in greatness. The world disrespects america to a great extent, if you didn't get the memo. Europe is light years ahead of us. The EU will likely not possess the otherworldly, warmongering, imperialistic intentions that the US has. So in that regard I guess you could say the US is 'supreme'.

For the same reason they don't understand that APEASSEMENT of your enemies doesn't work.
It's as though Neville Chamberlain's ghost is still trying his mistake with Hitler over and over again in hopes that it might eventually work!

They don't see freedom and liberty as Americans do, nor do they see limited government or self-reliance as good things.

Look at their 'Constitution', a huge and stupid document filled with minutae that limits personal and economic freedom.

Their cultures are too diverse, and their welfare statism gives them low economic growth and high unemployment.

Greatness lies with freedom, not socialist welfare.

They don't have to. America is on a slow path of failure that will eventually make others superior anyway.
