There are actual studies out there that you can cite as an argument that school should start later. Attendance/tardiness becomes less of an issue. If a breakfast program is offered, that has also shown to improve test scores and overall alertness of the student.

Read the attached article - it's CHOCK FULL of great arguments!

Studies have shown that starting school an hour later is more beneficial to adolescents due to their neurological development. Most adolescents undergo a change where they fall asleep later, and cannot wake up earlier. As a result, those who's classes start at 7 am or so tend to be sleepier, less attentive and are therefore gaining less benefit from the educational system.
I have included a link to the frontline show which discussed this research and will give you more information for your essay.
Good luck!

that's straightforward. Persuasive can recommend beneficial or adverse. So write an essay persuading human beings to no longer pass - commute issues, language issues, subject with holiday coverage and lodging, extreme fees with the present unfavorable substitute cost. record all of them, inclusive of first hand studies of those issues and you have a efficient piece. end on a surprising notice by utilising suggesting human beings stay at residing house and use the money they shop for a helpful reason. this would earn you a stable 10/10 mark. stable success

Later as in time of day or later as in years old?

Going with years old for response.
It has been shown, particularly in boys, that they don't have the social skills to learn in a school setting until a little later - which is often a problem in early school years. Starting them later, when they are better able to sit down and pay attention would help them be able to learn and since they would be less disruptive, help the whole class environment.

While starting kids in kindergarten/social activities is fine, learning and school could probably start later with little negative effect.

Organize your thoughts, pros and cons. You should have at least four paragraphs. The first paragraph summarizes what you are about to say. The second paragraph lays down the advantages with examples to back them up. The third paragraph mentions some disadvantages but plays them down as being not as important to the pros. The last paragraph summarizes what you said.

my high school gets in the latest, in Nova Scotia. but we also get home at 4:45, so just make sure you realize even if you get to sleep-in in the mornings you also stay up later doing homework.

persuasive essays are not that hard, as long as your opinion agrees withe your topic. state your opinion, break it down it to sections. then back those sections up with facts and the opinions of others (classmates), don't forget to include the other side of the argument too, and counter it blow for blow...

hope that helps

There's your hook right there in your question. If you had gotten that extra hour's worth of sleep, you'd probably have been able to come up with an idea for the paper. Unfortunately, the fatigue you''re experiencing is getting in the way of the learning/creative processes.

From what I've read and heard (I'm an education grad student), making HIGH SCHOOL start later makes sense. Adolescents have something about their brain that makes it very difficult to go to sleep early, and even harder to wake up early. I wish I could give you sources, but I really don't remember where I heard it.
