I will never understand why people don't use wikipedia. Please, do tell me. Circe is a witch from Greek mythology amd a character of the Odyssey. She does not have an army, but she does turn Odysseus' sailors into pigs. However, she's not invincible - Odysseus overpowers her and forces her to turn the men back. Then they become lovers for about one year. Magus is not a character, but a title. It's a Persian word which indicates a follower of Zoroaster. Later on, it became a word for wizard or astrologer. The Three Kings of the Nativity are still called Magi in Romantic languages, possibly because of their middle Eastern origin. Maybe the person who put together Circe and 'magus' was thinking about Simon Magus, a heretic and sorcerer from Antiquity.

By all the gods... why don't you do your own research instead of getting people to do it for you? Bloody google it. The information will be more accurate anyway.
