Grave blankets are popular around this time of year for several reasons. 1. Availability of pine cones and pine branches and other dried flowers, leaves, etc. 2. Ease of making and distributing 3. Source of small income for the holidays

It is those crafting things they put on top of a grave site they are usually made of pine trees and have bows and decorations on them. some people think it keeps the snow off from their dead loved one and some think it will keep them warmer, some people like them b/c the look nice and it is a way of remembering their loved one.
