hi, i'm 13 from singapore, and well, the people here are kinda...conservative. from many stories that i've read here, it seems to me that many teens from western countries get pregnant early. in my country, it is a severe crime to get an under-aged teenager pregnant. but, by reading the posts here, being pegnant at my age seems no big deal. the boys in my class are not mature at all, some even very short and weighing only 28kg! i do not have any close guy friends, or should i say...i do not even talk to my guy friends even if i see them in class everyday! my society seems so conservative..
is it really no big deal to get pregnant at my age? (i'm asking this just because i want to know your opinions, but don't worry, i won't be doing IT yet)
how could i make some really great friends? i hope to have cliques that consists of both guys and girls...but i find the people in my class so insensitive and i can even call them...backstabbers..i'm really in a dilemma..could you help?

You are right. There are a lot of girls on this site that get pregnant way too young! When I was 13, I never even imagined having sex. But these days, sex is a fad for the younger generation. Young girls and boys don't fully understand the consequesnses of under-aged sex. None of them understand what it is to be a parent and to be responsible. It is definitely a good thing to be from a more conservative area.
About your friends: You are only 13. That is such a difficult time to get through because everyone is going through change. Don't worry about the backstabbers. They'll grow up eventually. If you really want to make some great friends, just be yourself. You sound like a great girl, so you should be able to make friends easily. Just don't worry about what other people think of you.

Quite right, and everything does seem to be true about 80% of the time.
You are right, Singapore is a conservative country, I been there for spring break from a flight to Paya Lebar from Yokota AB, Japan.
Anyway, it is a big deal. If you are 13, get pregnant, and have the kid, your life is basically gonna go down the toilet.
If I were there now, or vice-versa, I could be your friend, because I am the kind of guy that gets along with people.
So, don't worry about sex til you're like, oh, I don't know, 17?

There may be a lot more 13-year-olds getting pregnant here in Western countries, but that doesn't make it right. No parent WANTS their child to have sex and get pregnant at 13....there are too many teenaged mothers out there these days, and parents need to start taking the initiative and putting their sexually active kids on birth control. I think our Western world could use some of the values of your country; I'm not saying make it AS strict, because people would rebel here, but I think it's a good thing that it's not the norm to get pregnant as a young teenager in Singapore and elsewhere.

Dont even make friends with backstabbers and if you want to have sex do it just use a condom.
