Eagle Scout is the highest rank, but getting Palms adds to the prestige. The highest honor one can attain is the Silver Buffalo, which is usually given after decades of dedicated service in the BSA.

Once you have met the requirements for Eagle Scout, you can earn Palms for blocks of additional merit badges.
There are positions, the most senior position a Scout can become is Junior Assistant Scoutmaster.
