The only struggle in my life is the raising of my kids - alone. Hubby left when the baby was 14 months old and the eldest was 4, and that was 11 years ago now. I had to get a job which I've still got, start paying for babysitting, now they are in middle school and high school and straight A students. That's my greatest struggle and greatest accomplishment. As for other addictions, other than smoking, I'm not addicted to anything, not drugs / alcohol, etc.. But since I still exercise and diet, and really am in good shape (except my lungs I'm sure), then I won't worry about my smoking yet. Keeps me from crying ... lol.

I don't know if this uplifting, probably more of the scared straight method. My boyfriend is 26 years old, a Navy veteran. Started drinking when he was about 14, heavily! Kept it up until his 20's, quit for about a year, and started back last New Years Eve, after that he started drinking everyday.. at first it was a fifth a day and by February he was drinking 2 fifths a day.. by mid April, he started suffering from severe stomach pains and was admitted into a hospital! He ended up having Acute Severe Narcotizing Panreatitas, which means his pancreas got inflamed and started eating itself and the tissue around it. It's caused from drinking and/or drug use! He was in the hospital for 2 months, had a 30% chance of living, mind you he was only 26! He had major life threatening surgery, lost 50 lbs and had to learn how to walk again!
I hope this can have some kind of effect on you, if not for yourself but the ones who love you! It effects them the most, not just getting sick and almost dying or dying, but the whole addiction itself!! I wish you the best of luck in your recovery!!

I smoked for years and was addicted. One day, I wake up coughing and decided it was time to quit. I threw all of the smokes I had into the trash and decided I would replace smoking with exercise. That was 6 years ago and now I am a black belt in martial arts and I am also very fit. My philosophy was that since smoking had made me feel weak in my lungs, I was going to build them up with jogging and exercise. The first day, I couldn't jog a half a block. Now I can go three miles without stopping.
Good luck quitting whatever it is you want to quit. Will power and determination are the keys.

rather sorry to take heed to. considered one of my happiest 'dogs thoughts' does not contain my very own canines ... it relatively is approximately one that i found (dumped), became in to the pound (which broke my heart to do, yet I had to), and that i found MONTHS later became accompanied and residing luckily close to me. the recent proprietor despatched me an digital mail (I had published %. and an define on Craigslist, and PLEADED for persons to offer this dogs of venture) yet never knew the consequence ... finally all of a sudden at some point I have been given the digital mail asserting, 'hi, i've got been intending to permit you comprehend that I accompanied that dogs from the pound' .... it became a JRT, satirically. My different tale contains yet another dogs i found (confident, i'm a 'misplaced dogs' magnet), became in to the pound, and desperate i could no longer leave to threat. i became on the pound to take him the minute he grew to alter into accessible (after the essential 4 day keeping-era for the owner to declare, which did no longer take place). The warden introduced him out for me and that i actually burst into tears. suitable in front of a team of strangers, yet i did no longer care. he's in effortless terms slightly mutt and 'no longer something specific', yet he became suitable for me and that i knew it. he's the main dedicated and loving dogs ever. respected ... my famous breed is the Irish Setter, so i like the look of longhaired canines! yet residing with that coat on a daily basis ...... nicely, that's a chore. there are a rather good variety of different motives to love the Irish Setters. i assume I care greater appropriate to the dogs wearing the coat than I do appropriate to the coat itself.
