myspace is pretty good, but it's been so flooded now that it's almost impossible to get a lot of new people listening to you if you dont have a full promotion team going, or you're willing to put in loads of time making friend requests. one bit of advice: send a message too. people get dozens of requests from bands every day.
there's a site called imeem.com where you can upload songs that's similiar to myspace. i havent used it that much, but it looks very nice and professional.
on ubl.com you can create an artist profile, upload songs and maintain a profile with pictures, and even sell cd's through the site, although i believe that costs a nominal fee.
vox.com is an easy to use website centered around blogging, but you can upload whatever types of files you want, there's no reason that it couldn't provide an excellent base of operations for the muzak.
hmmm..those are pretty much all the ones i know of and use. again, with any of these you are going to have to promote yourself heavily, either by getting the site out there, or even buying ad space on other sites, which really isnt that expensive.
good luck!

Why not pay a fee to get your music out there and heard? Surely you think your music is worth it? I mean, if you think your music is good but not good enough to put your money into, then what makes you think anyone else would believe in it. You've got to believe in yourself and in your music a little more if you want it to take you places. If the problem is, you don't have any money for fees, then find someone with money who believes in you and your music, who will pay the fees for you. If the music's good enough, then you'll find a backer in no time. I'd like to hear your music, but how can I if you won't stand behind it? good luck to ya :-)

myspace.com has a huge community of musicians who even sell there CD's from there. One band I no who live down the road from me sell all sorts of things on there personal site, linked from my space. They give there tour dates and when peeps can see them at there shows. Of course they are much bigger then they used to be..... Make up a site, then advertise it on here. I for one will go and listen :0)
Go do it, it is free....

Try Pandora's music. It is free and allows you to create your own music stations, without downloading anything.
