I need to make a homemade DNA model but is to be able to separate to show DNA replication.?

(double helix with A.G.T.C Ladder in the middle) we cant use model kits, it has to be home made. Any ideas?

size= biggest it can be is able to fit on top of a table.

go to a craft store (or even a department store with a craft department such as walmart) and buy dowel rods, small styrofoam balls, and craft paint - you can paint everything the color you need it to be (remember to get a top coat for the paint!) and put it together using the styrofoam balls to join the dowel rods
