Zoisite is a mineral species in the Epidote group. It varies from transparent to opaque and comes in blue, violet, brown, green, pink, orange etc.

Pink Zoisite's trade name is Thulite. It ranges from translucent to opaque and is also called by its less known trade names, Rosaline and Unionite.

Pink Zoisite is not Ruby. Ruby is a Corundum, which also includes Sapphires. However, there is a variety of ornamental gem material called Anyolite (trade name: Ruby in Zoisite) that is simply green Zoisite with embedded Ruby crystals.

The most famous Zoisite is Tanzanite. That's the trade name for the transparent variety of blue, blue-violet & violet varieties of Zoisite.
