Its the ASUS P4SD-VX. Its a socket 478, and it came with my sony Vaio. I can only find message boards and forums on things, but I can't actually find the stats. What I want to find out is what chips it supports. I know its a 478 slot...but I don't know the highest processor it can support. I also need to know the max ram it can support, as well as if it can support a Nvidia Geforce 7800 agp.

Again, we have people trying to answer questions they know nothing about. The problem you have is the technology for this board has become outdated and ASUS doesn't support it on their website any longer. I would go back to their web site and use the "Contact Us" information to force them to give you the specs on your board. It could be listed elsewhere on the internet, but I can't find it either.

Here is the link for their contact information and Motherboard support team.

Ram you dont need over 2 gigs and this should support it. The video card will work as long as your Power Supply can supply the power. I suspect that it is not powerful enough. On the processor I am not sure what to suggest. I have a feeling that you should be able to use any socket 478 processor. I am not 100% on that. You may need to upgrade your BIOS to do so. I am not sure if you can overwrite the Sony BIOS though.
