Yep you are right! There might also be some calculations that they are likely to cost more due to ill health and such though so perhaps they get a bit of there money back in the healthcare they are more likely to receive?

No body gives pension money back !!
Th e majority of mens` private pensions "die" when they do. So if a man retires at 65 and dies at 66. he would have paid all his working life into a pension where he will have only had back a minute portion. So if he has a wife who is much younger than him, say 15 yrs.she would be only around 50 when he dies. She gets nothing from his pension and will have to wait until she is 65 before she can get even a government pension. It is wrong that when people pay thousands of pounds into a pension during their working life, that when they die their wife or family cannot benefit form the money paid in.(also the interest from the money paid)

nicely, the time-honored public sector have a selection of working as long because of the fact something human beings, and getting extremely much less funds on the top (nonetheless nevertheless greater suitable than the deepest sector, little doubt), or face activity losses or completely decimated pensions. on the top of the day, the government hasn't have been given any funds, the time-honored public sector is rather bloated, and fees some distance too plenty, and the tax-paying public are commencing up to ask your self only what makes those civil servants fairly so specific - why would desire to they have the potential to retire ten years past to all human beings else on golden-plated pensions? How is that straightforward? it variety of feels completely straightforward to me - what with human beings residing longer and an getting older inhabitants (meaning it's going to be confusing for the present technology getting into artwork to pay for those leaving it in 2 many years time) we would desire to do something, and making the time-honored public sector greater equivalent with something human beings sounds completely perfect to me.

Don't be daft! Next you'll be asking the same of drug addicts, alcoholics, smokers, workaholics, people who die of natural causes and murder victims. In which case, anybody who dies before they reach pensionable age should be getting their money back because they didn't live out their full life. It's not just us fatties who pay out and may not live to receive our rewards. Food is a drug, just the same as ciggies and beer. You can't cold turkey on food!
Instead of whittering on about getting your money back, think how that money could be put to good use helping educate those tubbies who have tried and tried to stop putting on the pounds. Obesity is the result of a new addiction. Fast fatty food, and it's about time it was treated as such.

Thousands and thousands of people have died and will die before reaching pensionable age and always have. I don't think in the real world obesity will make a big difference in the death rate on it's own. In any case Brown and New Labour will continue to rob (sorry tax) you before death and after!.

True.
But that was FDR's intent in the first place. Soc Sec was a money maker for FDR and gang.
You work 40 to 50 years and die before you could draw it.
The average person, when FDR invented it, lived to age 56.
The average person would die 6 years before he could collect a penny. His wife at that time would not get any.
The government took all his contributions.
Never trust a Democrat.

You've got your head in the clouds if you think anyone will get Social Security in 2046. The system is paying out more than it is taking in.
So thank all the fat people for dying early and leaving more in the system for you.

They won't need it if their dead
A better question is...Should the American people have to absorb additional health care costs due to health related issues associated with obesity?
While some are obese b/c of other health issues....some are just fat b/c they eat too much and don't exercise......aren't they personally responsible in some respect for their own health?

If we had private retirement accounts instead of Social Security, we wouldn't have to worry about who lives longer.
And, anyone who died for any reason would be able to give whatever they had saved to their children or whomever they wished.
Please, government, let me keep my money. I am a responsible adult and promise not to come crying to you for help if I mess up MY life. Please treat me like an adult, not only when it comes to punishing me, but when it comes to being allowed to take responsibility for my own life.

fat people will use resources that will outweigh the contributions they make during their lifetime. nhs resources to fat related illness outstripped smoking many years ago and are growing yearly. they should pay more not less.
