My boyfriend and I are considering moving to a place with a less costly and more laid back lifestyle. I have a job lined up but he's in Finance and is concerned about finding work. Either way we're looking for a change from the East Coast!

I moved to the East Coast from Denver 6 years ago and now all i want to do is move back to Denver. There just isn't any place quite like the Mile High City. Downtown is becoming quite chic and metropolitan. There is much to do, especially if you are a lover of the outdoors. I can't say from experience, but I hear that the arts scene in Denver is improving all the time. Hope you can make the right decision for you.

Denver defimnately is that change,
But don't go near five points, It would be like going right back to NYC. The crime rate is climing. Much less traffic yes, but the crime rate is now comparrable to NYC. It's getting bad.

If you move to the Denver metro area, the look for a place around Westminister, or Thorton. Boulder is really pretty, because it is right against the rockies. Same with Colorado Springs.
Look for towns that surround Denver.

If you're in finance and want a nice place to go, where the cost of living is low, and that atmosphere laid back, give Charlotte. NC a thought. It's a banking community, and very low key. A nice 1500 sq.ft. house, will only cost about $125k. You're 3-4 hours off the coast, but still close enough to go places.
Denver is becoming very metropolitan. The air quality is terrible and costs are on the rise.

Crime is on the upswing in Denver. If you really want to move, I have a suggestion. In the reference section of the library there should be a book called Places Rated Almanac. It rates 372 metropolitan areas in North America. It rates job outlook, crime, cost of living, and 7 others. It is a great starting point. I have used it for several moves.

Yeah Denver would be great place to move because you would almost feel like home. There is so much less traffic than NYC.

Sounds like a really good place.

There is no other place like Denver, or NYC, or any other place for that matter.
