how do you set timing on a sewing machine?

this is a new home machine apx. 40years old

Can't think of what "timing" on a sewing machine would be...
Came across this site which might help...just have to know make and model number and hopefully they have a manual on line to help you...

Whaaat? I've never heard of setting the timing on a sewing machine...only on like gasoline engines for cars...*LOL* Do you mean the tension? How do you set the tension on a sewing machine?
