It is rude, and it´s makes me nuts. That is happening all the time with some persons, so I´m trying only to star answering with few words, and peacefully wait for another question. It is crazy, but I have to it, to protect myself of nervousness.

It isn't about her not being a friend, it's about her not really wanting an answer, even tho she asked. A lot of ppl really only need to talk out loud, and have a caring person listen. We have our own answers inside, and sometimes we can come up with our own answers when we hear ourselves talk about the situation. Be a friend to your friend and just listen. If she really really needs an answer to whatever she is saying, then she'll stop and listen to you. Otherwise, let her go on and on, she'll either feel better for having gotten it off her chest or she'll find her own answer. And feel better for having a friend who cares enuff to just listen.. and not try to 'fix' her.

OMG! I hate that!....that would be what I call...(for lack of better words) SELF CENTERED and not caring! Psycho babbling is a great term for this. UGH! Pet peeve I have. Very disrespectful and annoying at the same time. They ask the question so they can hear themselves talk....I had a true friend do this to me before.....I handled it like this.....
I waited till she was done with her tangent.....REMAINED silent (sighing and eye rolling)and for the long waited moment for her to ask me....Why aren't you saying anything? What's wrong with you?
My reply was this...........
Are you wanting me to tell you how I really feel OR what you want to hear?.....silence..........THEN if you REALLY want to hear me you NEED to STFU so I can answer otherwise I do NOT want to hear your crap!!!! She NEVER did that again and when she slipped up butting in....I got louder...LOL....POWER TRIP!!!!!
OH it bothers me! GET HER!!!! I'll cheerlead you.....

Maybe your answer was going in a direction she wasn't interested in.
She did want a lot of people would probably want to do in that situation...except your friend was being rude.

Very irritating. My sister in - law and her whole family do this. It's pointless to try and hold a conversation with them. Now that you have mentioned it her friends are the same way. UUGGHH!!!!
