Not phyically no, but perhaps psycholoigically. Cocaine has positive reinforcement effects, which refers to the effect that certain stimuli have on behavior. Good feelings become associated with the drug, causing a frequent user to take the drug as a response to bad news or mild depression. This activation strengthens the response that was just made. If the drug was taken by a fast acting route such as injection or inhalation, the response will be the act of taking more cocaine, so the response will be reinforced. Powder cocaine, being a club drug is mostly consumed in the evening and night hours. Because cocaine is a stimulant, a user will often drink large amounts of alcohol during and after usage or smoke cannabis to dull "crash" effects and hasten slumber. Benzodiazepines (e.g., xanax, rohypnol) are also used for this purpose. Other drugs such as heroin and various pharmaceuticals are often used to amplify reinforcement or to minimize such negative effects, further increasing addiction potential and harmfulness.

That is actually a very good question-
Technically the answer is NO
Surprisingly, pharmacologists have classified stimulants that users self-administer directly—such as amphetamines and cocaine—as nonaddictive because, according to their research, these drugs do not produce withdrawal (Eddy et al. 1965). Why milder stimulant use like that manifested by coffee and cigarette habitués should be more potent than cocaine and amphetamine habits is mystifying. In fact, as cocaine has become a popular recreational drug in the United States, severe withdrawal is now regularly noted among individuals calling a hot line for counseling about the drug (Washton 1983). In order to preserve traditional categories of thought, those commenting on observations of compulsive cocaine use claim it produces "psychological dependence whose effects are not all that different from addiction" because cocaine "is the most psychologically tenacious drug available" ("Cocaine: Middle Class High" 1981: 57, 61).

That's a stupid question! Of cource it is. I do beleive certain people are more prone to the addiction then others, but there's still an addiction. Don't do it. If you want to do some drugs, try something weaker. Cocaine could kill you, is it worth your life?

Are you for real - Cocaine is highly addictive, messes your head up and eventually your life. Sadly it usually has a real hold over you before you actually realise. If you're sensible you'd leave it well alone in the first place - its a VERY over rated drug anyway x

No, but cocaine is. And it makes your teeth go manky and your face fall to bits. It also makes your privates shrivel up and malfunction. On the other hand, all the cool people do it so its gonna make you look proper hard in front of your mates. Thats gotta be worth it hasn't it?

NO, it is in your mind.During the 70's and early 80's I did coke almost every day,not because I had to but because I liked it.I got tired of doing it after 7 or 8 years and just quit never have done it since.Coke is psychology addicting but it is not physically addicting. And unless you have a weak mind it is not even psychological.
