THE VALUE OF THE FUNCTION IS....-4(X^2+2X+1)+7
-4(X+1)^2+7
HENCE THE VALUE ATTAINS A MIN WHEN (X+1)^2 IS MIN AND THE MIN VALUE IS ZERO WHICH OCCURS AT X=-1 ...
AND THE VALUE IS 7

Let y=-4x^2-8x+3
=>y=-4(x^2 + 2x - 3/4)
=>y=-4(x^2 + 2x - 3/4 + 1 - 1)
=>y=-4{(x+1)^2 - 7/4}
=>y=7 - 4(x+1)^2
Clearly minimum value can be negetive infinity (- ~)
y will be maximum if 4(x+1)^2 is minimum =>x=-1
=>y(max)=7-0=7

derive the function : y = -4x2 -8x +3
dy/dx = - 8x-8 the root of this expression is -1
the derivative is poistive from - infinite to -1 and negative from -1 to infinite.

you are able to positioned the polynomial on your TI 80 3 or 80 4 in case you’re allowed to apply it on exams. understand-how the thank you to graph the function via hand is significant yet understand-how how the graph seems and what the y min and max actual is much extra so. in simple terms enter your equation into the Y= then hit the calculate button or 2d hint and use the min max characteristic. yet once you’re nonetheless in extreme college you're able to be able to no longer be allowed to apply TI 80 3’s.
