-4(X+1)^2+7
HENCE THE VALUE ATTAINS A MIN WHEN (X+1)^2 IS MIN AND THE MIN VALUE IS ZERO WHICH OCCURS AT X=-1 ...
AND THE VALUE IS 7
THE MAXIMUM VALUE OCCURS WHEN X IS INFINITE..

Let y=-4x^2-8x+3
=>y=-4(x^2 + 2x - 3/4)
=>y=-4(x^2 + 2x - 3/4 + 1 - 1)
=>y=-4{(x+1)^2 - 7/4}
=>y=7 - 4(x+1)^2
Clearly minimum value can be negetive infinity (- ~)
y will be maximum if 4(x+1)^2 is minimum =>x=-1

=>y(max)=7-0=7
