yeah.it's irritating,right?well you cannot just stop person like this, they act like that because they wanted the people around them especially their peers to know that they are the BEST on just about everything!..they don't want to be left behind on the latest issue or gossip or whatever thing is in!..
you know why they act like this?here's the deal:
a. the first probability is that their parents boost their confidence on a overflowing scale since their childhood,that they grew up believing that the can do everything,that they are the best,that there is nothing which they could not attain or do..because their parent's are always there to boost his/her confidence and support them -- no matter what it takes!it sort of brainwashed them on beleving that they are best and is pampered with too much attention that they wanted the spotlight to be on them all the time..while on the second probabilty;
b.this is the opposite of the first,this is where the person is always left forgotten,especially at home,for instance,she is the middle child of the family,she would mostly be the one who got a little attention,why?the first child is always in charge and kind of trusted by parents to be this and that,while the third is always pampered with attenion,love,etc..as for the middle,they are always the one who is always left for granted..this is what you called a MIDDLE CHILD SYNDROME..if these person mingles with other peolpe,he\she would try to get their attention all the time,to compensate for the feeling of being taken for granted by their parents at home..but of course,it's a family to family basis..
here's the cut;
a person may behave like that maybe because he\she is over showered with attention that they wanted to stay that way or the other way around, that they lack attention at home,that they wanted to have it with their peers,their admiration and for simply aknowledgement that they still exist.

Sometimes when people act like they know everything they're insecure about getting to know new people. They're afraid that the new person/people will make fun of them if they don't know something so they pretend to know everything

Some times because they know nothing.
Some times because they are trying to give them selves the feeling that others need them, if they are insecure of feel alone in the world.
But if it's your parents it's because they do know better then you.

I guess it's a big ego. My brother is like that. You can't say anything to him without him saying "no, it's not like that". He drives me crazy thinking he knows it all and he's only 22.
