Eastenders has been dyig a slow death for the last 2 years, with only occassional returns to form - like when they brought Grant back.
It hasn't been good since way before Nigel Harman got killed off, and even though I fancied him not even he could maintain my interest, as I hated other characters and stories too much, the last time I can remember lovin' Eastenders was when the Sharon and Dennis thing FIRST happened, and not all the crap that followed thereafter.
The last episode I watched was the one where Grant plonked his wife in the bin and before that it was the one where Kat left I think!!
It started to go to the dogs with the "cardboard funfair" thing - the worst, most low budget soap disaster EVER and has been in decline ever since

Heeellllooooo!!!! Where have you been? It's been getting like that for several years now.... never mind sitting down to a good soap with a nice cuppa,...lets all write suicide letters and break out the razor blades while drinking arsnic laced brandy!!!!
I've stopped watching Eastenders because I can't afford the prices prescriptions nowadays, antidepressants are just too much money.. and anyways....my doctor will only give me one month at a time just in case I overdose!!!!!

they don't have adequate high quality thoughts, even as one reliable tale ends we are left with weeks of tedious, a techniques fetched nonsense because the writers lack mind's eye. even as Eastenders all started in 1985 each and every tale replaced into sensible, had humour aswell as a severe aspect, replaced into nicely acted and achievable. even as a tale ended a sparkling one would grip us immediately, one which were simmering for a lengthy time period to capture our pastime. Now thoroughly new thoughts are thrust upon us once a competent one ends and it would not artwork, thoughts could accept time to develop earlier they develop into the major area of the educate. Brian Kirkwood has lengthy gone too a techniques, he's turning it right into a depressing, sinister drama extremely than a cleansing soap. i imagine he could depart and develop right into a severe characteristic length drama producer. Eastenders is a cleansing soap so it needs to loosen up and end this tedious, a techniques fetched, darkish, depressing crap that it is coming up with now.

Maybe the light budget has run out! Probably because its winter now and they are making it appear gloomier because as they film a few days and sometimes weeks in advance they have to account for the failing daylight in real life.

Maybe they've ran out of their budget - or more realistically - they've ran out of decent ideas. Eastenders is looking like a very tired soap.
